About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned and highly competent Deputy General Manager (DGM) – Quality to lead and manage the Quality function for a reputed plastic caps and closures manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality management systems, operational excellence, and industry standards specific to plastics and packaging.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams across the manufacturing facility.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) in compliance with ISO standards and customer requirements.

  • Set quality benchmarks and ensure strict adherence at every production stage.

  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for internal and customer complaints.

  • Oversee product inspections, testing procedures, and ensure conformity to specifications.

  • Coordinate and lead customer audits, internal audits, and external quality certifications.

  • Collaborate closely with production, R&D, and sales teams to ensure product excellence and process improvements.

  • Train and mentor quality team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Review and approve quality documents, specifications, and work instructions.

  • Manage vendor quality assurance processes and ensure the incoming material meets quality standards.

  • Monitor key quality KPIs and present regular reports to top management.


Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualification: B.E./B.Tech – Mechanical / Polymer / Plastics Engineering (or equivalent).

  • Experience: Minimum 20 years, with significant exposure to the plastic caps and closures industry.

  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, HACCP, and other quality standards.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.

  • Proficient in quality tools such as 7QC tools, Six Sigma, SPC, PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA, etc.

  • Ability to handle client communications regarding quality issues and drive customer satisfaction initiatives.
