We are seeking a seasoned and highly competent Deputy General Manager (DGM) – Quality to lead and manage the Quality function for a reputed plastic caps and closures manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality management systems, operational excellence, and industry standards specific to plastics and packaging.
Lead the Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams across the manufacturing facility.
Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) in compliance with ISO standards and customer requirements.
Set quality benchmarks and ensure strict adherence at every production stage.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for internal and customer complaints.
Oversee product inspections, testing procedures, and ensure conformity to specifications.
Coordinate and lead customer audits, internal audits, and external quality certifications.
Collaborate closely with production, R&D, and sales teams to ensure product excellence and process improvements.
Train and mentor quality team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Review and approve quality documents, specifications, and work instructions.
Manage vendor quality assurance processes and ensure the incoming material meets quality standards.
Monitor key quality KPIs and present regular reports to top management.
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech – Mechanical / Polymer / Plastics Engineering (or equivalent).
Experience: Minimum 20 years, with significant exposure to the plastic caps and closures industry.
In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, HACCP, and other quality standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
Proficient in quality tools such as 7QC tools, Six Sigma, SPC, PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA, etc.
Ability to handle client communications regarding quality issues and drive customer satisfaction initiatives.
