Job Description – Plant Head

Industry: Agro-Product / Agro-Processing
Position: Plant Head
Salary: ₹70,000 per month
Experience Required: Minimum 7 Years
Location: Jodhpur, Rajasthan

Job Purpose

To lead and manage complete plant operations including production, quality, maintenance, manpower, safety, and cost control to ensure efficient and profitable manufacturing of agro-products.

Key Responsibilities

Plant Operations & Production

• Overall responsibility for plant operations, production planning, and execution

• Ensure production targets are achieved with optimum utilization of manpower, materials, and machines

• Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure product quality as per industry standards and company SOPs

• Implement quality control systems and corrective actions

• Ensure compliance with FSSAI, ISO, and statutory requirements

Maintenance & Utilities

• Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery

• Ensure uninterrupted utilities (power, water, steam, etc.)

Manpower & Administration

• Lead and manage plant staff, supervisors, and workers

• Workforce planning, shift management, and productivity improvement

• Training and development of plant personnel

Cost Control & Inventory

• Control production costs and wastage

• Monitor raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory

• Coordinate with purchase and stores for material availability

Safety & Environment

• Ensure strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental norms

• Implement and monitor HSE practices across the plant

Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate with HO departments such as QA, Purchase, Sales, and Logistics

• Prepare and submit MIS, production, and cost reports to management

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, 5S, TPM)

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong leadership and decision-making skills

• In-depth knowledge of agro-processing operations

• Expertise in production planning, quality systems, and maintenance

• Good knowledge of ERP/MIS systems

• Excellent communication and team-handling skills

Qualifications

• B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Chemical, or related field

• MBA / additional management qualification will be an advantage

---

Experience

• Minimum 7 years of experience in agro-product / food processing industry

• At least 3 years in a senior plant or operations leadership role
